AB Foreign  bodies,  mostly  wooden  splinters,  often  become  deeply  wedged  under  fingernails  and  toenails  (Fig.  8.1a).  Efforts  by  patients  to  remove  the  splinters  often  aggravate  the  problem.  Methods  of  effective  removal  are  outlined  here.
